The Offset Lathe PEELS off the veneer - Once per revolution. This is called Half Round Cutting... 29) Sheet after sheet are peeled... 30) ...And come out on a "Flipper"... 31) The veneer is flipped by machine and then hand stacked by real people. 32) Every sheet is carefully stacked. 33) The veneer flitches are allowed to rest. 34) Here is a stack of backer boards - The part of the log which doesn't get sliced.  35) Before the veneer is dried, it may be allowed to "rest" for a day or more and get used to it's new form.... 36) When the veneer is ready.. It is taken to be dried....
