the veneer - Once per revolution. This is called Half Round Cutting... |
29) Sheet after sheet are peeled... |
30) ...And come out on a "Flipper"... |
31) The veneer is flipped by machine and then hand stacked by real
people. |
32) Every sheet is carefully stacked. |
33) The veneer flitches are allowed to rest. |
34) Here is a stack of backer boards - The part of the log which doesn't
get sliced. |
35) Before the veneer is dried, it may be allowed to "rest" for a day
or more and get used to it's new form.... |
36) When the veneer is ready.. It is taken to be dried.... |
