This desk cost $5.00 at one of those auctions and my sister got it as a Christmas gift. 
She doesn't see the flaws that I see so, there's no threat of quitting my day job!

Being a beginner, I decided to stick to basic squares & rectangles. 
I used contact cement & found it easy to use on the small pieces but more difficult on larger pieces.
